There’s a new apple on the block.
The “Salish” apple will debut in stores this fall. It’s a tangy, juicy apple that is very crisp. The apple is medium sized with a pinkish, red blush and a yellow background colour.

According to Agriculture Canada, it has a late harvest date, good storage and shelf life, and high yields and good growth habits for high-density orchards.
Fifteen orchards have already committed to growing the Salish apple. The new apple has been in development since 1981 and originated in Summerland, B.C.
