Submerged SUV pulled from South Sask. River

The Saskatoon Water Rescue Team pulled a submerged SUV out of the South Saskatchewan River today.

Saskatoon Fire & Protective Services received a call from a canoeist who reported seeing the roof of a vehicle under the water around 1:20 p.m.

The vehicle was submerged in 14’ of water and located around 60’ off the west riverbank, near the Saskatoon Rowing Club.

Firefighters say the SUV was vacant and a secondary search found nothing else in the water.

Saskatoon police have taken over the investigation.
