The Okanagan Sun are licking their wounds after taking a pounding at the Apple Bowl in Kelowna Saturday night.

The Sun lost 58-2 to the defending champs Saskatoon Hilltops.

The Hilltops beat the Sun 38-24 in the Canadian Bowl last year in Saskatoon.

It was the Hilltops’ first return to the Apple Bowl since the 2000 Canadian Bowl.

The Hilltops jumped to a 14-point lead after only three minutes into the game and never looked back.

The Sun’s offence failed to generate a touchdown and managed to score only two points on a conceded safety from the Hilltops.

The Sun were held to only 111 yards on the ground and completed only five of 15 passes for a total of 60 yards.

The Sun’s record falls to 6-2 with the loss.
