A 37-year-old Regina police officer pleaded guilty to an impaired driving charge Tuesday in provincial court.
Const. Devon Sterling received a $1,000 fine, a $300 surcharge and a one-year driving ban.
Sterling, who has been an officer for 11 years, was stopped by Lumsden RCMP at around 3 a.m. CT on July 15 during a traffic stop.

According to Regina police, he was not on duty at the time of the incident. He was charged with impaired driving and exceeding .08 blood alcohol content.
At the time, he was given administrative duties until the matter had concluded in court.
On Tuesday, Sterling pleaded guilty to exceeding .08 blood alcohol content. The impaired driving charge was stayed.
The Professional Standards Unit of the Regina Police Service opened an administrative investigation but it was held off until the criminal matters were concluded. Police said the investigation and review will now move forward. Sterling is still assigned to office duties until the investigation is finished.
