During the grand opening of Rogers Place last week, officials boasted there isn’t a bad seat in the house. But that may not be the case.
Take a look at the pictures below, snapped from the Drink Rail seats in the upper bowl during the open house last weekend.
The view seems great until someone sits down in the regular seats in front, almost completely blocking sight of the ice.
Drink Rail seating goes around the entire upper and lower bowls, but the obstruction issue only appears to affect the upper bowl because of how steeply the rows of seats are angled.
Some took to social media this weekend to share the problem. The official Rogers Place Twitter account replied to say the issue is being looked at.
In a statement to Global News on Sept. 30, the Oilers Entertainment Group said the following:
“Like any new venue opening, we are working with a few select guests that have experienced obstructed sightlines, in particular the Drink Rail seats. We feel the situation is well at hand. As mentioned, we have been and continue to be in touch with our Season Seat Holders who have been affected.
“Our focus is on great fan experiences for all our guests and we feel like we’re addressing these items with our customers in a timely matter.”
