KELOWNA – He last suited up for the Cincinnati Bengals. This weekend he’ll be wearing the colours of the Okanagan Sun.
The football team has announced the signing of NFL prospect Rashaun Simonise after he was released by the Bengals nine days ago.
Simonise arrives in Kelowna Tuesday to begin preparing for this weekend’s game against the Saskatoon Hilltops in rematch of the Canadian Bowl.

“We are pleased to add the stellar talent of Rashaun to our roster,” said Sun head coach Ben Macauley in a news release. “With NFL experience he immediately impacts the league and draws defensive attention. He is also a dynamic returner with unmatched athleticism. While Rashaun has bigger things in store, we are happy he has chosen to finish the season with the Okanagan Sun family.”
In pre-season action with the Bengals, Simonise caught two passes in games against Minnesota and Indianapolis.
The 21-year-old from Vancouver played last year with the University of Calgary Dinos reeling in 51 receptions for 1,079 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Simonise signed with Cincinnati in the spring as a free agent following the supplemental draft.
