Toronto police tagged 1,467 vehicles and towed 298 following a four-day rush-hour traffic enforcement blitz last week.

The enforcement campaign focused on traffic congestion and gridlock within the downtown core from Sept. 6 to 9.

Parking Enforcement Officers and police officers from Traffic Services centered their attention in the area bounded by Bloor Street to Front Street and Parliament Street to Dufferin Street.

The tag-and-tow traffic blitz is part of city’s strategy to relieve congestion by targeting illegal street parking which block major routes.
