When it comes to pipelines the debate is always east versus west.

This weekend, Tom Clark invited Edmonton mayor Don Iveson and mayor Marc Demers of Laval to debate how much risk is too much.

Demers has been staunchly opposed to the Energy East pipeline project, saying it could pose serious safety risks for his community, just north of Montreal. Iveson, meanwhile, has touted the project as economically beneficial for cities across Canada.
