Longueuil police have set up a command post at the Mont-Saint-Bruno nature park following a violent attack on a jogger last week.
Police say that an investigator will be stationed at each of the park’s entrances in the hopes of meeting with regular park users.

Officers are especially interested in speaking with visitors who tend to frequent the park on Fridays, the day of the alleged attack.
The assault happened in broad daylight just after noon on Friday, Sept. 2.
A woman in her 50s was jogging alone in an area near Lac des Bouleaux when, as she told police, the man suddenly attacked her.
Police say she managed to fight him off but no further details were released as the investigation is still ongoing.
She was seriously injured in the ordeal but has since been released from hospital.
Officers at the park will once again distribute computer sketches of the suspect and patrol the trails to ensure not only visibility but to reassure visitors.

- Don’t walk alone, make sure you are accompanied by at least one other person.
- Have an object that emits loud noises to attract the attention of passersby in an emergency situation.
Anyone who was at the park on Friday, Sept. 2, and saw anything suspicious or has any information regarding the suspect is asked to call Longueuil Police at 450-463-7211.
