WINNIPEG — Winnipeg’s biggest downtown street festival kicks off Friday evening.

ManyFest will take over Broadway September 9 to 11. There are two stages with entertainment all weekend long, as well as dozens of food trucks. Also, for the first time ever, the area will be licensed, meaning festival-goers will be able to sip and savour beers and wines while waiting in line for delicious food truck cuisine.

There will be areas closed off to vehicular traffic Saturday and Sunday. To help encourage visitors to ride their bicycles, bike valets are set up so you can park it and walk around the site.

There are lots of free things to see and do for everyone. There are 33 food trucks taking part in the Food Truck Wars, artisan market, a kids play area, a wine and beer garden and live music. The festival wraps up with a Sunday night movie in Memorial Park featuring, The Jungle Book.
