After months of a bitter custody battle, Madonna and her ex-husband Guy Ritchie have finally come to an agreement over their 16-year-old son, Rocco.

Reports say the former spouses have settled their differences shortly before they were due in court.

Madonna was reportedly livid when Rocco, 16, insisted on living with his father, with Madonna alleging the Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels director was poisoning their son against her.

However, the past few months have seen an apparent softening in the dispute; Rocco recently spent time with his mother in London, and attended her 58th birthday bash in Cuba in mid-August.

The details surrounding the settlement have not been made public, so it’s unclear who Rocco will live with.

In May, the judge in the custody case told Ritchie and Madonna that they were wasting Rocco’s childhood with all of the fighting.

“It would be a very great tragedy for Rocco if any more of the precious and fast-receding days of his childhood were to be taken up by this dispute,” said Judge Alistair MacDonald.

MacDonald’s words echoed the plea from New York judge Deborah Kaplan, who called on the singer and director to reach an agreement. She told both parties: “No one is disrupting his household other than the inability of the parents to reach a resolution.”

Madonna and Ritchie divorced in 2008 and also have another son, David Banda, 10.

The iconic singer is also a mother to two other children, Lourdes Leon, 19, and Mercy James, 9. Ritchie is now married to Jacqui Ainsley, with whom he has three children.

Rocco left his mother’s Rebel Heart world tour at the end of last year to visit his father in London and remained there.
