Police said that relationship started in April 2014 and lasted until August of the same year.
The accused was a six-year member of the RCMP when he resigned in May 2016.
On Tuesday the 33-year-old turned himself in and police charged him with sexual exploitation.
Police said they are not releasing his name in order to protect the identity of the victim, who was underage.
He was released with his next court date in October.
