B.C.’s ‘Scrap-It’ program now offering higher incentives

‘Scrap-It’ is trying to get British Columbians into more environmentally-friendly forms of transportation, by offering higher incentives.

Starting today, people will be offered up to $2,200 to recycle their older model cars.

‘Scrap-It’ is hoping the money will encourage people buy newer cars that produce less smog and fewer greenhouse gases.

So far, the recycling program has been successful in removing more than 30,000 higher polluting vehicles from the road.
