Ski resorts record first snow in the Rockies

While you may still be donning flip-flops and shorts, it’s still important to remember: winter is coming.

Yes, that four-letter s-word is being uttered for the first time since spring: snow.

The white flakes have fallen in the Rockies, with ski resorts capturing the snowfall on Monday.

For skiers, of course this is welcome news, even if it is a bit early. For those still clinging to summer, it’s a sad reminder that a transition into colder weather is on its way. But the good news is, the snow didn’t stick around.

But there’s still plenty of warm weather left for Canada, though nighttime temperatures are becoming quite chilly in some parts of the Rockies with lows in the single digits.
