Britney Spears will (finally, at long last) appear in the passenger seat of Jame’s Corden’s car on Carpool Karaoke this Thursday, a day before her ninth studio album, Glory, is released.
The returning pop superstar and Corden appear in a minute-long teaser singing Spears’ number-one hit, Toxic, ahead of her appearance on The Late Late Show.

The 34-year-old mother of two talks about her sons in the clip, as Corden quizzes her about whether they have seen her Las Vegas show.
“I saw my mum in her underwear once when I was like 11,” he recalls, before Spears interrupts by saying: “You’re so dirty!”
Corden replies: “I’m not! I’m saying, I’m not dirty, but I can’t shake the image from my brain.”
A couple of weeks ago, CBS announced that Spears would be the next celebrity to ride along with Corden.

There has been some skepticism online that Spears will actually sing instead of just lip-syncing. The preview shows Spears just barely pushing out a note of her own song, utterly overpowered by Corden’s singing.
Many fans of the late night show have slammed Spears on Twitter, wishing someone who can “actually sing” would appear on the show.

It remains to be seen whether Spears can surpass the reigning Queen of Carpool Karaoke, Adele, whose appearance has drawn over 123-million views on YouTube.
Before Corden was king of Carpool Karaoke, he was just another teenager trying to break into the entertainment industry, one interview at a time. In honour of Corden’s 38th birthday, the BBC Archive shared footage of a teenage Corden, then 16, interviewing Meat Loaf on air for Good Morning with Anne and Nick in 1995.
