With an unexpected medal-haul, Canadian athletes had plenty to celebrate at the Closing Ceremonies of the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro Sunday.
In the past, we would have relied on traditional media to paint a picture of the spectacle across the world but with the advent of social media, selfies abound from Brazil, allow us an insider’s look at the end of the games.

Olympic swimmer Mack Darrach showed a sea of red gathering ahead of the evening’s festivities.
Leandre Bouchard, who competed in Cycling Mountain Bike Sunday morning, was on the bus with more men and women with maples leaves.
It was a wet, wintry day in Brazil, so plenty of Canadian athletes were breaking out the mittens.
