‘Superman’ actor Henry Cavill shares ‘Justice League’ sneak peek

Did Superman’s Henry Cavill tease a major hint about his character’s story line in the upcoming Justice League movie?

That may, in fact, be the case.

The Hollywood actor posted a close up photo of what appears to be Superman’s suit on Instagram on Monday. But it isn’t the beloved red and blue ensemble we’re all used to. This time it’s solid black.

The 33-year-old only captioned the photo with “#Superman” but fans quickly caught on to what this suit might mean for the movie.

According to People, the black suit appeared in The Death and Return of Superman comics from 1992-1993. The comic details Superman’s death after losing a battle with Doomsday, a villain from the DC Comics universe. Anyone who has seen Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice may be familiar with this. Eventually, Clark Kent returns from the grave wearing the black suit with a silver “S” as his emblem.

The picture may also clear up any questions fans have about whether Superman lives beyond Batman vs. Superman.

Fans of the movies and comic books were divided on the possible story line.

Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. The movie hits theatres Nov. 17, 2017.
