LOS ANGELES – Superman will apparently be back in black.
Man of Steel star Henry Cavill posted a close-up image of a black Superman uniform Monday on Instagram. He’s expected to return in next year’s Justice League.
Cavill’s high-flying superhero – spoiler alert – met his demise at the conclusion of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice earlier this year.
The last son of Krypton was originally resurrected with a black suit after he was killed off in the comics in 1993.

Cavill wouldn’t be the first Superman actor to sport a black uniform. “Superman Returns” actor Brandon Routh and Lois & Clark co-star Dean Cain also donned dark versions of the traditionally blue, red and yellow ensemble.
