The media arm of the Islamic State group says 24-year-old Aaron Driver was one of its soldiers.

Driver died in a confrontation with police in the driveway of his sister’s home in Strathroy, Ontario on Wednesday afternoon as he was apparently setting out in a cab to commit a terrorist act.

It’s not clear if he died of injuries from detonating his explosive device or if he was killed by police bullets.

A posting on the Aamaq news agency’s website says Driver’s only mistake was in releasing the martrydom video that led police to him before he carried out his attack.
