Saskatoon city officials showed off a report that states taxpayers saved $183 million in 2015.
The bulk of the savings come from P3 projects, like the North Commuter Parkway, according to the report.

It also outlines a number of performance measures that track how the city is progressing on its long term goals.
For example, the city is lagging in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and diverting waste from the landfill however it’s on track in diversifying its workforce.
“It’s in all areas, it’s in clerical, management, trades, professions across the board,” said Catherine Gryba, the city’s general manager of corporate performance.
“We have programs and initiatives and work with community partners to increase the level of diversity that we have in the City of Saskatoon employees.”

Officials also found $700,000 in savings by streaming the roadway tendering process and said the use of a new de-icing product that resulted in less street sweeping cleanup saved $250,000.
The report will go before city council next week.
