A newborn that was delivered during a fatal accident in Quebec City was transported to a Montreal-area hospital after her condition worsened overnight.
The baby was delivered after a pregnant woman was struck by a car Wednesday at a pedestrian crossing.
The mother later died of her injuries.
Authorities believe the motorist fell ill at the wheel and hit the 27-year-old mother before crashing into two parked cars.
He was transported to hospital, but his life is not considered to be in danger.
The incident is still under investigation.
