Environment Canada has confirmed two tornadoes touched down in Manitoba Monday with a third deemed “likely”.
Just before 5 p.m., the first tornado was reported between Binacarth, Man. and Russell, Man. Golf ball sized hail was also reported in Russell at this time.
The second tornado was reported at 5:20 p.m. in Waywayseecappo First Nation. Several houses were damaged and one was destroyed. A school bus was also overturned. No injuries were reported.

The Canadian Red Cross is helping to provide lodging and food to anyone displaced in the community, which is about 280 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.

The third tornado remains unconfirmed by Environment Canada but is “likely” to be confirmed once the scene is observed. It was reported around 5:40 p.m. near Elphinstone, Man., bringing tennis ball sized hail with it.
The storm morphed into a line of thunderstorms by the time in got to the Red River Valley and weakened south of Winnipeg.
