A police medical examiner has not yet arrived on scene.

People who live in the area say they heard shots fired within the home before seeing smoke and fire.

When fire crews arrived, residents in nearby homes were evacuated and told to go across the street to a bus shelter until the blaze was under control.

Global News has reached out to RCMP for a comment, but has not heard back.
