The Rio Olympics officially launched Friday with its opening ceremony, a massive production that has come to mark the beginning of every Olympics.
Each country’s Olympic team got the chance to enter the Maracana Stadium, flags waving high. Heading into competition, the athletes appear to be having a pretty good time.

Led by flag bearer Rosie MacLennan, Canada’s 314 athletes showed off their opening ceremony outfits, designed by Canadian design duo Dsquared2. The athletes’ red and white jackets boasted — what else — a maple leaf.
