A six-month-old puppy that was stolen from outside a mall in Nanaimo in early July has been reunited with her owner.
Molly, a Rottweiler crossed with a German Shepherd and a Labrador, was found in Parksville after wandering into a woman’s backyard about two weeks ago.
The young pup’s ordeal started on July 10 when a man, riding a green Neon mountain bike, rode up, unleashed Molly and took off with her running beside him.
It is unknown what happened to the puppy since she was snatched.
But according to Molly’s finder, who wishes to remain anonymous, the puppy didn’t look like she had been mistreated, besides looking a little thin and being thirsty.
After making several local inquiries, Molly’s finder called the number on her tag and was told about the puppy’s ordeal.
Within 24 hours, Molly was reunited with her owner.
While police are happy for Molly’s safe return, they said it also stresses the importance of having your pets licensed.
