An Edmonton stunt man was lucky to escape serious injury when a live performance on America’s Got Talent Tuesday night went horribly wrong.
Ryan Stock, known for daring performances that include balancing a chainsaw in his mouth and swallowing an electric drill, was performing another cringe-worthy stunt in the quarterfinals of the popular show when the error occurred.

Stock placed a long rod with a target attached to one end down his throat, as his fiancée, Amber Lynn Walker, aimed a crossbow with a flaming arrow at the bulls-eye.
Audiences witnessed the flaming arrow strike Stock in the neck, sending flames bursting across his chest.

Stock, who has been performing for 15 years, immediately attempted to swipe away the flames.
“You’re not on fire,” the show’s host Nick Cannon reassured the veteran stunt man.
The failed feat left a large red welt on Stock’s neck.
“I’m OK, I’m OK,” a shocked Stock told the judges and crowd as he attempted to continue his routine. “It just caught my shirt. She missed it,” he said while rubbing his neck.
“No, no, no, no, no, you’re not OK,” judge, and fellow Canadian, Howie Mandel insisted. “I don’t think you are.”
Other judges backed Mandel, urging Stock to be checked by medical personnel.
“Amber just shot Ryan and he needs to go to a hospital now,” said judge Simon Cowell. “I’m being serious.”
“We have to be responsible here – you are hurt,” Mandel added. “The audience just saw what can happen. I hate that I just saw what could happen.”

Stock did receive medical treatment and was cleared.
America’s Got Talent judge Heidi Klum tweeted her relief that Stock was fine.
Stock currently holds five world records for similar grotesque feats.
In 2012, Stock used a hook placed through his nasal cavity and out through his mouth to pull a car with two people sitting in it on live Italian television.
In 2014 he used his tongue to extinguish 40 blowtorches within a minute, shattering the previous record of 27.
