Kids gearing up for Okanagan Dream Rally

It's a charity fundraiser and at the same time it should make for a very special day for children who could use a few more smiles in life. Global News

Two Ferrari sports cars will be among the estimated 75 sports and collector vehicles taking part in the inaugural Okanagan Dream Rally in August.

The rally route takes participants from Kelowna to Penticton and back.

Organizers are hoping to have a VIP co-pilot in each car for the ride.

“It’s almost like Make a Wish. We’ve contacted foundations in the Okanagan to help us find children that need a smile, are going through a tough time in life,” said co-founder of the August Family Foundation, Matt August.

The drivers will marshal their cars in downtown Kelowna at the sails before leaving for Penticton at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 7.

The rally concludes in Kelowna with a fundraising event in the city.

All money raised will go to the Central Okanagan Hospice Association (COPA) to help build a bereavement centre in kelowna in April 2017.
