While those in attendance are enjoying the festival, the Edmonton Food Bank is asking them to remember the less fortunate.

“Traditionally people think of the food bank at Christmas and the festive times of the year. Unfortunately, the need for food bank services is all year round, and we are currently serving more than 21,000 people through the hamper programs, plus food to soup kitchens and shelters,” Marjorie Bencz, Edmonton Food Bank executive director, said.

The food bank’s goal is to collect 50,000 kilograms of food.

Money and unused food ticket donations are also welcomed.
