A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the Kootenay Lake area.

Global BC meteorologist Yvonne Schalle says the upper low that’s been influencing B.C.’s weather pattern continues to stick around.
“Under its influence the atmosphere remains unstable especially over the southern half of the province,” says Schalle. “As a result, widespread showers and thunderstorms will develop across the region.”
Schalle says the unsettled pattern will continue into the middle of the work week.
On Sunday, a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Metro Vancouver and Howe Sound, with cells over North Shore Mountains moving southwards.
