Man fighting for his life after being pulled from Kearney Lake

Halifax Regional Police said a 21-year-old man is believed to be in life-threatening condition after being pulled out of the water by friends at Kearney Lake on Saturday afternoon.

Police said officers were called to the lake for reports of a “swimmer in distress” at 4:35 p.m.

According to police, the victim’s friends were performing CPR on him when officers arrived at which time they took over lifesaving efforts. The man was rushed to hospital where police said he remained Saturday evening.

Police continued to investigate the incident. It happened near the dam by Larry Uteck Boulevard.
