Police say they have laid charged against a 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman following a three month investigation into a case of alleged child abuse.
Bridgewter police say they began their investigation after a baby in the area sustained serious injuries. The accused and the victim are known to each other but police say they will not be releasing the names of the accused to protect the baby’s identity.
The man and woman are each facing charges of aggravated assault, criminal negligence causing bodily harm and failing to provide the necessities of life.
Both accused have been released from custody and will appear in Bridgewater Provincial court on August 10.
