Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is “very concerned” about bandmate Joe Perry, whom he hasn’t heard from since he collapsed onstage on July 10.
Perry became ill while performing with Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper in his side band, the Hollywood Vampires, at Ford Amphitheater in Brooklyn’s Coney Island. Perry, 65, is off the Hollywood Vampires tour for now, but a statement earlier this week promised that he’ll “rejoin his fellow Vampires on stage again soon.”
A fan at the show posted a video of the collapse on their Instagram page.
Reports that Perry had a heart attack onstage have not been confirmed.

“I know how to maintain my career, my health, and Joe’s passionate,” Tyler continued. “I don’t think he knows how to. I think he’s out there and someone’s overbooking him. They’re doing like eight or nine shows in a row, or five in a row. I think they’re all a little burnt. I think they may need to look at that. Not young anymore, y’know?”
Aerosmith has an upcoming South American tour including Perry, which was scheduled to start in September, but Tyler cares way more about Perry’s health than the tour. Tyler has tried to call Perry multiple times, but has not received any response.

“I don’t give a s**t about the band. I want Joe to live,” Tyler said. “I’m really concerned and worried right now that I’m not getting any news. I don’t know whether it’s heat prostration or whether he’s been working himself too hard or getting off on wrong things passionately. I don’t know what it is, but I know that nobody’s talking to me. I can only tell you that Joe’s my brother and I love him so much.”
Tyler has been on a solo country-music kick lately, alongside his work with Aerosmith. He just released his first-ever solo album of country music, called We’re All Somebody From Somewhere, on Friday.
