Homicide investigators said Monday they don’t use the word ‘abduction’ lightly but events point to that as one possibility in her disappearance.
Thelma Krull left her East Kildonan home for her regular morning walk July 11, 2015 and never returned.
Her glasses and cell phone were recovered from Civic Park.
“Shortly after arriving, Thelma experienced some kind of distress,”Sgt. Wes Rommel said. “It is our belief that this distress was the result of either a medical situation she experienced or an encounter or ultimate abduction by an unknown individual.”

She had gone for a walk that morning, but never came home. Her glasses and cell phone were recovered from Civic Park.
“The fact that her glasses remain as well as her cell phone is one of the pieces we have to indicate distress,” Rommel said.

He also indicated the glasses ‘showed signs of distress’.
Police said if Krull was abducted, it wasn’t targeted, but random.
“I don’t know for certain if it was an abduction,” Rommel said. “If it is an abduction I believe it was an opportunistic incident that happened at this location.”
Police say they’ve received 240 tips from the public but more information is needed.

Rommel said they don’t believe there was a car accident.
On Monday police released new images of a woman walking in that area, as well as satellite photos that show a man and woman in the southeast corner of the park.
At that same briefing, her husband Bob Krull and daughter Lisa Besser made another plea for information.
“People don’t just disappear,” Besser said. “I think it’s impossible that people don’t know what happened.”
Krull’s husband’s voice shook as he said “Please someone help us,help bring Thelma home.”
