Australian hiker still missing in Kananaskis

RCMP are hoping for new clues as they continue to investigate the disappearance of a 59-year-old Australian man, missing for over a year.

Hiker Kevin Kennedy was last seen on August 21st, 2011 when he was dropped off in the parking lot at Highwood Pass.

Kennedy planned to hike over Grizzly Col and complete Tyrwitt Loop.

However, at the end of the day, Kennedy failed to meet his ride home, and hasn’t been seen since.

He’s described as:
• Caucasian;
• 59 years old;
• 6 feet tall, 170 lbs;
• Grey thinning hair;
• Glasses;
• Australian accent; and
• Last seen wearing a light blue shirt, khaki shorts, brown/orange fleece, dark colored hat, blue backpack, carrying a navy blue rain coat.
RCMP have conducted extensive ground searches of the area with help of helicopters and search and rescue teams, but have failed to find any clues to the man’s whereabouts.
