A three hour standoff between a man and police has ended peacefully in Saskatoon.

Officers were called out to a home in the 200 block of Lewis Crescent at around 10:15 p.m. CT on Wednesday for a report of a disturbance.

They arrived to find a man shouting and barricading himself on a deck of a home where he didn’t live.

He was brandishing garden shears and a knife and threatened to harm himself.

Police say he was damaging property and refused to listen to officers.

Crisis negotiators and the tactical support unit were called in and a peaceful surrender was negotiated three hours later.

No injuries were reported.

The 29-year-old man is facing a number of charges including mischief under $5,000, prowling by night and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
