Car crashes into moving train in north Edmonton

A man was taken to hospital Wednesday morning after driving his car into the side of a moving train in northeast Edmonton.

The collision involving the commercial train happened at around 2 a.m. near Fort Road and 153 Avenue.

It’s not known if the train involved belonged to Canadian Pacific or Canadian National Railway.

Edmonton police said the train was already in the rail crossing when the white car approached it.

The driver of the car suffered non-life threatening injuries. There was no one in the car with him.

The crash remains under investigation.
