The City of Calgary started using new four-car light rail transit (LRT) trains Tuesday.
The first new CTrain car called “The Mask” made its’ inaugural trip starting from the Tuscany station Tuesday morning.
Transit riders helped choose the design, which was inspired by a goalie mask. The province paid for the cars out of their Green Trip Transportation Fund.
The 63 new cars cost $200 million.
They will be phased in over the next six months.
