WINNIPEG — Two members of the University of Manitoba Bisons’ football team cut their luscious locks Tuesday morning, donating their hair to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Running back Cam Fox and linebacker Adam Neiles, cut off a combined total of over 40 inches of hair and will be sending it to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths campaign, which ships and donates real-hair wigs to Canadian Cancer Society wig banks across Canada.
Fox had previously considered donating his hair but was still on the fence until Neiles brought the subject up while the two were training.
Both agreed that once the plan was in place, it wasn’t difficult to follow through.
“Donating it gives you more incentive,” Fox said.
The duo have also set up a fundraising page on the Canadian Cancer Society’s website, which can be accessed here. They have a goal of raising $500 and are currently halfway to achieving that mark.
