KELOWNA – The suspect in the armed robbery of a Kelowna restaurant has been charged with three offenses.
Late Saturday night, a man showed a knife and demanded money at a Subway on the 500 block of Harvey Avenue.
He fled with some cash.
“Moments later officers attended the scene located a man matching the suspect’s physical description near the intersection of Harvey Avenue and Richter Street,” said RCMP Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey in a news release. “The man was arrested without incident and the money, believed to be taken from the Subway, was found on his person.”
Justin Wayne Collins, 39, was held in RCMP cells over the weekend pending a Monday court appearance.
Collins has been charged with robbery, disguising his face with intent to commit and offense and obstruction of a police officer for allegedly providing false names to RCMP.
