Neetu Garcha/Global Okanagan

It was a special Canada Day for two Okanagan residents who were recognized by Premier Christy Clark for their contributions to their communities.

Troy Becker and Marion Sallenbach each received the Medal of Good Citizenship during a Canada Day celebration at Kelowna’s Prospera Place.

Becker was honoured for his work with people with disabilities.

He’s a full-time firefighter and has been a volunteer with search and rescue since 2001.
