The fire heavily damaged one of the eight apartments which was on the second floor of the duplex.

No one was injured.

Investigators couldn’t pin point where the fire started or what caused it and transferred the investigation to the Montreal Police arson squad.

Residents of the other apartments in the duplex have now returned to their homes.
