Google mapping University of Saskatchewan campus

The University of Saskatchewan may have been missed when Google Streetview cruised through Saskatoon a few years ago to map the city, but now that is changing.

Google was waiting for different technology to fully capture the campus and it has arrived.

It’s called the trike, a three wheeled cycle with a 360 degree view.

Over the next few days, the trike will cruise the campus capturing images.

Experts will then pick through the images, blurring out people and license plates, a process that will take a couple of months.

Once completed, Google Streetview will give students with disabilities the opportunity to check out access points prior to classes and allow new students to familiarize themselves with the campus.
