Here are the three finalists’ stories:

Casey Grenier
Casey Grenier had a rocky childhood, bouncing between divorced parents. He’s lived in 49 different places and attended 14 different schools. To smooth these jarring transitions, Casey learned to make friends through art. This artistic expression continues to be his creative outlet today.

When he first moved in with his wife their home burnt down, and without proper insurance, they were forced to live in hotels and with family for 13 weeks. Both Casey and his wife have children from a previous marriage, so their household is a blend of children aged 13 to 17. Casey has a big personality and an even bigger heart, and is looking to find a house he can call his “forever home.”

Heiber Mina
Heiber Mina is a married father of three. Born and raised in Colombia, Heiber dreamed of moving to Canada to create a better life for his family. Heiber’s wife Claudia and their children left behind all of their family and friends, and now live in a two-bedroom, 750-square foot apartment that can barely contain them.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

During his first few years in Canada, Heiber worked a number of jobs in the construction field, and although he doesn’t aspire to be the next Mike Holmes, he knows his way around a tool shed. Heiber describes himself as extremely competitive and works tirelessly to achieve his goals. With his living quarters bursting at the seams, Heiber dreams of owning a bigger house for his family.

Jillian MacDonald
Jillian MacDonald’s life turned upside down recently as fires ravaged her hometown of Fort McMurray. Now Jillian and her husband are living in her sister’s basement, not knowing when they’ll be able to go home.

While she works for the city by creating audio and visual presentations, her favourite pastime and passion project is photographing local weddings. Jillian also refers to herself as a “Pinterest DIYer,” replicating projects she finds online. Having done some refinishing and light renovations around her bungalow in Fort McMurray, Jillian knows her way around tools. Winning Home to Win‘s dream home would restore Jillian’s spirit after the ordeal she’s gone through.

The season finale of ‘Home to Win’ airs on June 26 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on HGTV.
