37-year-old man dead after car crash in Oka

OKA – A man in his 30s is dead after a single-car collision in Oka.

The driver lost control of his car, which hit several trees before coming to a rest in a deep ditch, according to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

The accident happened a few minutes before 1:30 a.m. ET on the Rang de l’Annonciation.

The man was brought to hospital in St. Eustache where he was declared dead.

“Speeding and not wearing a seat belt were likely to blame,” said Audrey-Anne Bilodeau, a spokesperson for the SQ.

The SQ is still investigating.
