Manitoba RCMP are on the hunt for vandals who toppled over a popular moose statue at Riding Mountain National Park this week.

The topiary moose is located near the Clear Lake townsite. It was vandalized sometime overnight Wednesday into Thursday, according to a post on the park’s Facebook page.

“It always saddens us when property is damaged in the park but this one really hits home to our gardeners who have put countless hours into building this topiary to create a memorable photo op for our visitors,” said a post on the page.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

RCMP also tweeted on the picture saying they are investigating.

Park officials are asking anyone with information to contact RCMP at (204) 848-2659 or 1-877-852-3100.
