A 29-year-old man was working on an upgrade to the electrical system Monday night.

What happened next is being described as an arc flash, although officials say they’re not sure.

The man was sent to hospital but will be fine.

“We’re not even 100 per cent certain that it was an arc flash,” said Richard Murray with the Ministry of Central Services.

“I’ve heard the term arc flash bandied about … but until the investigation is complete, I’m not even certain if that’s what we’re facing here.”

The building is run by the province. Murray added that there is no danger to the public.
