A falling danger for one Okanagan visitor on Tuesday morning ended up snarling highway traffic.
A large tree fell down onto the edge of Highway 97 just south of Peachland sending a large piece of the tree onto the highway..
The tree missed hitting a rental car but the driver, reportedly a tourist from Germany, couldn’t avoid hitting the large tree part that landed in front of him. The resulting collision damaged the rental vehicle.

Police attended the crash site.
Traffic was backed up as officials cleaned up the roadway.
