UPDATE: Youth charged after 2 Saskatchewan schools placed in ‘hold and secure’ mode
A “hold and secure” at schools in Maidstone, Sask. has been lifted following an alleged threat.
According to RCMP, they were made aware of the alleged threat against the schools at around 8:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday.

The nature of the threat has not been released but police say one youth is in custody.
No charges have been laid as the investigation continues.
Terry Craig, superintendent of schools for the Northwest School Division, confirmed with Global News that Maidstone High School and Ratushniak Elementary School were no longer in a hold and secure as of 11:45 a.m.
Kaitlin Harmon, the communications officer for the school division, said counsellors are on site for staff and students who may be struggling to understand or cope with the situation.
Both schools will remain open for the rest of the day and classes will continue.
Parents who wish to pick up their children can do so at the main entrance to Ratushniak Elementary School.
The exterior doors to the schools were locked and monitored during the situation while classes continued.
Students who were being transported on busses at the time where diverted by police to a parking lot near the Petro Canada.
Parents and the public were being asked not to go to the school at that time.
Maidstone is approximately 220 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
