Saskatchewan Roughriders QB Darian Durant itching to play

Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Darian Durant is sick of watching football games.

He’s a competitor, he wants to play, but Durant’s health issues have kept him on the sidelines for nearly a full year.

Durant suffered a ruptured Achilles in the first half of the 2015 season opener, sidelining him for the remainder of the season.

The Riders star QB dressed for last Saturday’s pre-season tilt against the B.C. Lions but he didn’t get to take a single snap.

Durant won’t have to wait much longer to see some game action. He’s going to turn it loose on Saturday.

“I want to play as long as I can,” Durant said. “Whatever the coach sees fit, I’m all for it. I definitely want to get a half in at least.”

“I just want to get out there and play.”

The Roughriders travel to Edmonton to take on the Eskimos on Saturday afternoon in pre-season action.
