Emergency crews were called to Londonderry Mall in north Edmonton Monday afternoon after a vehicle drove off a second-level parking lot.

The fence blocking off the second level of the lot was forced open when the vehicle crashed through. A silver car could be seen on its roof on the ground level.

Police said two women in their 30s were in the vehicle at the time. They were pulled from the vehicle by emergency crews and taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

Officers believe the driver of the vehicle hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.
